The Blue Boar Inn

My Wife and I ate here for lunch today and it was spectacularly good. We couldn't remember the last time we ate such good pub food. Everything was absolutely perfect and the service was excellent too. We also had a Groupon voucher and the meals were served with Prosecco so it was exceptionally good value. Honestly, I don't believe you will eat anywhere better. Its been a long time since we've had a meal out where it was truly faultless. The venue was also cosy and welcoming. Many thanks to the Blue Boar and everyone involved. Absolutely outstanding 5* all round.

We had a lovely stay at the hotel. The staff were really very nice. The food was exceptional both evening meal we had and the breakfast the next morning. We would definitely stay there again and will be recomming staying there to all our friends and family that are in that area to stay there too. Thank you for a great stay.

Food was ok, pretty average. We had Sunday roast beef and pork belly. Pork belly was very good as I ordered it well done and it was cooked just as I asked. Veg not so good, some bits were undercooked and cold in the middle. We would have mentioned this IF we had been asked how the food was after receiving the meals, but we never got asked. We ordered simple cold drinks (apple juice, black current soda and coke) which arrived at the same time as our food (20+ mins wait from ordering) and only because we reminded the waiter when giving us our food that we still hadn't been served our drinks. Once finished, we always stack the plates together to help the waiters but we had been waiting for ages to get our table cleared, and when we finally saw a waiter he only cleared half the table leaving half the plates still on our table whilst we saw him just standing around with the other young waiting staff not looking terrible concerned about anything really. In the end it took so long waiting for the remaining plates to be cleared away that I just went to the bar to settle up and get out of there. We had planned on everyone having deserts and another round of drinks but got very bored waiting for service that was non existent. We shared looks and comments of poor service with surrounding tables who had shared a similar experience as us. We could see someone dressed like a owner/manager through the bar on a computer casually drinking what looked to be wine at 2:30 in the afternoon on a Sunday, which is fine in itself but with a restaurant floor running as poorly as clearly this one was, I cannot ignore that if the owner/management looks so uninterested and is drinking on the job, what can you expect to happen with a young inexperienced staff? Overall not great and we won't be spending our hard earned money there again, especially with such quality establishments just down the road we have visited many times.

We have just arrived home after a wonderful stay at the Blue Boar Inn. I can not fault a single thing. The room was beautiful and spotless. We had dinner and breakfast whilst staying. One of the best places we’ve eaten in a while. We chose the Indian menu for dinner and it’s likely the best Indian food we have ever had. We were catered too by multiple different members of staff throughout our stay and every single one of them went above and beyond to ensure everything was taken care of. We stayed here just for one night as an opportunity to visit Stratford-upon-Avon. The location was fantastic as it’s only a short drive away but the hotel is away from all the hustle of the busy centre. It has completely exceeded my expectations. We would highly recommend and visit again.. even just for the food!

Really enjoyed our meal here. Varied menu with delicious well-prepared dishes. Good selection of gluten free dishes. The atmosphere was delightful and the staff were so lovely. Thank you very much.

Small party for a celebration over the weekend. Ideally placed for Stratford and other Cotswold towns. Quiet location.||Friendly check in at the bar, pay on arrival.|Three rooms, each different. Love the original brickwork features. Good sanitary ware in bathroom. Everywhere was clean. Peaceful night's sleep. Good value for the area.||Dinner was excellent. The only problem we had was choosing what to eat. The duck was excellent. Everyone was pleased with the meal.|Breakfast was a little limited for some of us however the team did their best to offer alternatives which was hugely appreciated, thank you. The cooked breakfast was a good size, with quality ingredients.

Me and my partner have just come back from a 2-night stay at The Blue Boar and we had a truly wonderful experience. The staff were incredibly friendly and helpful from start to finish. When we explained that my partner is disabled, they kindly moved us to a spacious ground-floor room which was amazing – comfortable, clean, and perfect for our needs.|We also ordered a takeaway from the restaurant one evening, and the food was delicious. The restaurant itself is absolutely beautiful, with a lovely atmosphere. Breakfast was excellent too – a hearty full English with the option of cereals and yoghurt for lighter choices.|If you’re looking for places to visit nearby, we went to the Butterfly Farm and also took a trip into Stratford-upon-Avon, both of which we’d highly recommend.|Overall, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. Thank you to all the team at The Blue Boar for making our visit so enjoyable – we’ll definitely be back!

Just had the best weekend with dear friends at the Blue Boar. Service, accommodation, food and drink all top notch. Staff make it even more special. Stefano is absolutely brilliant and has the best sense of humour and really looked after us. Ava, Gemma and Roxy also were delightful. Can’t wait to return. Property is quirky as you would expect with such an old building but rooms are super comfortable. Highly recommend.
