There are only a few parking spots on the road below the track up the hill. The track is fairly steep but manageable if you’re reasonably fit and able. It’s a good view at the top of local towns and the lake.

The way we walked was extremely short, only about 20 minutes to reach the trig point from where Google maps directed us to the start. Great walk and the views from the top were fantastic. Always expected from a walk in the lakes!

A very quick up and down easy hill but with great views of Windermere to one side and over to the Coniston range the other. Interesting huge cairn at the top as well with very old graffiti from centuries ago scratched on the rocks, look out for it it there.

Stunning views, bit of a climb if you go the short steep way, there are gentler approaches. Great views north to ambelside, bowness to the east, langdale pike to the NW and the sea to the SW

An easy to medium walk. Suitable for families. Wear boots as it’s boggy in parts. One of the most panoramic views of the Lakeland fells.

Overlooking Hawkshead and Windermere is Latterbarrow. Someone we met at the Sun Inn in Hawkshead over a pint of Swan Blond recommended this hike. We were based about 20 minutes from there and took the footpaths which are mostly helpful, except when there aren't any! Took the route that included a steep scramble to get to the top, before finding a more gentle way to descend. Worth it though, great views, good cardio workout, and then back to the pub for a well earned beer.
