We had such a great experience staying at The Ayrlington! We only stayed for one night as we were touring through Bath but it was a fantastic stay. We booked a superior room. It was clean and very spacious. We made great use of our comfortable seating area to watch Bake Off! The staff were also very friendly. There is a dedicated parking lot for the hotel and we paid for our overnight spot in advance. Our room was on the ground floor and looked directly out onto the parking lot which made opening the blinds or a window a little awkward. If you're looking for more of a view or would just like to be a little higher up, I would request and room on a higher floor.

Well what a stay we had!! We were here for my birthday and it was superb. The staff at reception and throughout the hotel were excellent, warm, friendly, courteous, professional and just really lovely. The breakfast was amazing and cooked really well. The rooms are Chic, we stayed in The Victorian and it was lovely. The hotel is a short walk (abt 10-15mins) from central Bath and this is perfect to keep the step count up and making the hotel nice and quiet. We had a lovely stay, the staff are amazing and Bath is just beautiful. 100% recommend this hotel 😊😍👍

Visited for 1 night and really enjoyed it. Bed was very comfortable, service was great. Parking is £10 per night. Would stay again. We even got a tour of the available rooms which was much appreciated.

I booked for family across three rooms - the Grand Suite, The Range and a standard double. I would say all were value for money for what we paid. I also saw inside the Pulteney and it was a really beautiful room. The Range doesn’t have a great view out the window but the other rooms were excellent. The Grand Suite really is a beautiful room allowing access to the peaceful garden and the standard room my parents stayed in has a really pretty view. Staff were friendly and helpful. Only negatives were the view in the Range (and some missing handles/broken shutter) and a slightly odd welcome upon arrival which, for me, felt a bit abrupt. However shout out to Kara who was lovely to my parents when they arrived and was very helpful across email. Would happily stay again if in Bath.

More shabby than chic . Firstly the good things , the location is great for getting into the city. The lady who booked us in Casey was lovely . The view from the room over the garden that was very well kept was appreciated. However the room was not good , we were in Bamboo room ( no bamboo ) Geese on the wall paper. It needed a make over as it was very shabby , wall paper coming off the ceiling, dirty marks on walls , carpet , curtains and soft furnishings. The bathroom had cracked tiles and toilet seat , and there was mould on the walls . It definitely wasn't 4 star ! Obviously some of the rooms must be up to standard reading other reviews , but our room was not .

We have just returned from a wonderful 2 night stay at the Ayrlington. We had the Grand Suite on the ground floor which was so spacious and had its own little patio area. Was lovely to sit out there and enjoy the lovely gardens. The room was kept spotlessly clean and was well equipped. |Breakfast was very good and the service we received from all staff members was efficient and friendly. |No issues with parking the car. |The Ayrlington is very well situated with it being just a 10 minute pleasant walk into the centre of Bath. |We stayed here 15 years ago and are so pleased that the standards here are still very high. |Will definitely return.

We’re two men travelling together as a couple, and we had an uncomfortable experience upon arrival at this guesthouse. The hostess greeted us from behind a plexiglass screen, with a rather stern and unfriendly tone, and kept insisting that the only available room had “just one bed.” She repeated it three times, looking at each of us in turn. She never said anything explicit, but the tone and insistence made the moment awkward and unpleasant, as if there was an unspoken question or judgement behind her words.||When I eventually replied that her comments were unnecessary, she became defensive and curt. Whether or not it was intentional, the exchange left us feeling uncomfortable and unwelcome — not the kind of atmosphere you hope for when you’ve just arrived somewhere.||We decided not to stay and instead found another guesthouse — where, in a lovely twist of fate, an elderly gentleman welcomed us with warmth and humour, asking if we were “friends or special friends.” It was said with such kindness that it made the contrast all the more striking.||Travel sometimes reveals the best and the worst of people on the very same evening. One encounter closed a door; the next one opened it.
