The Appledore Bakery and Bread Cafe

The coffee here is absolutely delicious! My americano was one of the most delicious americanos I have ever had! We asked where we could buy the coffee beans it was that good. My husband had the smoked salmon and cream cheese bagel which was really well loaded with the above toppings. I had the hummous and olives on a bagel which was also good and well loaded but the salmon was yummier. Maybe that was how my taste buds were for today! The chocolate brownie was excellent. Service was friendly and prompt.

From the start made to feel so welcome made us the most delicious food even though it was close to closing time and still had time for us the staff just brilliant x My son had his first cappuccino which he loved x the food was delicious the bread stunning x even met the owner a lovely gentleman thank-you for making us feel welcome a beautiful place to eat

A lovely bakery in the heart of a wonderful peaceful village. We had the salmon and cream cheese bagel with a coffee and a cinnamon bun to go. Everything was fresh and delicious. Staff are very friendly and helpful. If we came back to Appledore we would make a beeline for this place.

Well, what a find. Lovely coffee in here, from the Croydon Coffee Rosters. Mellow and strong. I also had a smoked salmon and cream cheese on sourdough toast. It. Was. Mhoooosiveeee. And delicious. Good stuff.

The Appledore Bakery and Bread Café is an absolute delight — full of character, warmth, and quality. From the moment you step inside, the vintage-inspired decor and cosy atmosphere make you feel like you’ve found something truly special. The food is simple but at the same time unique it variety and thoughtfully made, fresh, and full of flavour. Paired with a perfectly made coffee or hot chocolate it’s the kind of place you’ll want to linger in. The staff are friendly, welcoming, and clearly take pride in the craft. It’s rare to find somewhere that gets the details so right — from the aesthetic to the service to the food itself. Oh and not forgetting to mention WiFi that actually works.. Whether you’re visiting Bideford as I am or a local regular, this café is a gem not to be missed.

Super friendly bakery and cafe. My girlfriend wanted to buy everything they baked. People working in both were really friendly. We also ate at the cafe and had cheese melted on toast and a salmon bagel. They were both huge and kept us going all day. Thoroughly recommended.

Wow what an amazing little bakery and cafe. The fresh bagels were the best I’ve ever tasted and were literally heaped with smoked salmon and cream cheese, and I could barely eat it all. Very generous portions and reasonably priced too. Amazing sourdough bread too, wish we lived closer. Very friendly service and super dog friendly too which always gets our custom.

Had found this on Google and decided to try here for lunch. Amazing food and coffee and very pleasant staff. We had a smoked salmon bagel with cream cheese and a local cheese and tomato sandwich. Both were excellent quality food and generous filling.
