I am not one to put others on blast and complain but : 2 stars for the RN and intern who treated me. 5 stars for the ER doctor. I went here twice and got my vitals and blood work done quickly. However, they have interns inserting IVs and collecting blood and those interns do not have great skills. Twice, on two different occasions, the interns that were sent to draw blood and insert the IV left me in a bloody mess. Blood oozed out of the punctured site and one of those times, blood pooled on my IV site, bed, pulse oximeter & its wires, forearm, and even the floor. I was not comfortable with having interns do this but just sat through it sonce I understand they need practice to learn. However, the worst part is that one of those times, one of the interns under the name of Stella had a RN watching over her as she inserted my IV and made a huge mess and not once did the RN under the name of Dominique help. She just watched the intern's poor technique and did not have her step aside to finish the IV and blood collection herself. I voiced my concern too, about how the blood was everywhere and how the needle was hurting me due to the pressure the intern was putting ON TOP of the needle that was already onserted in my skin. There was also air hissing out of the needle/vacutainer device which formed bubbly foam at the top of the blood specimens.I am no nurse but I am a Medical Assistant and the situation I was put in was frustrating and did not look right. To top it off, the RN seemed annoyed with the intern. Which is understandable BUT HOW ARE YOU SUPPOSED TO BE A NURSE AND NOT JUMP IN WHEN A COLLEAGUE IS CLEARLY STRUGGLING ?Especially when there was a bloody mess being made and my concerns were being voiced. Do some teamwork please! Furthermore, I was there for about 8hrs overnight (8pm-4am) and NEVER did the RN Dominique check in on me. She never offered a blanket; the CT guy did. The intern Stella did check in maybe 3x but other than that, both the intern's and RN's bedside manners can use improvement. My doctor Brittany Grzybowski was very helpful though and deserves 5 stars. She explained everything thoroughly and did extensive labs and imaging to help me. But other than that, the intern and the nurse could use more training and collaborating/ teamwork building especially since now I have to go back to repeat the blood culture test due to collection error. According to the doctor, there's a possibility that the intern who collected the specimen did not clean the site thoroughly. So just to be on the safe side, she asked me to repeat the blood culture. HUNTINGTON HOSPITAL, PLEASE TRAIN YOUR NURSES AND INTERNS TO PROVIDE BETTER CARE.

I was in the Huntington ER yesterday, and it was by far the most efficient, considered and compassionate experience I’ve ever had at an ER. The intake was quick, very organized and friendly. My wait wasn’t too long (understanding that it’s triage so critical needs had to be attended to first). Paige, my NP, was extremely attentive and a good listener. I had been dealing with a health issue for over a week and had several frustrating trips to urgent care and a new doctor that led up to me going to the ER as a last resort. Paige took the time to understand what had been going on, ordered the proper tests and got results within an hour or so. She and Jia were very communicative in terms of what I should expect, what they were going to do and when, and I felt very taken care of in what otherwise would have felt like a grim situation. A trip to the ER is never a positive situation, but the entire team I had yesterday put me at ease and gave me confidence in their approach to ensure the best care for me. My overall experience with Huntington and Cedars Sinai has been excellent, and I’m thankful to have such a great network so close to my house.

I went to the Emergency Department at Huntington Health Hospital after having severe abdominal pain, and I was so impressed with the care I received. The hospital was very clean, and everyone was kind, professional, and efficient. I didn’t have to wait long, and they made sure I was comfortable the whole time. The volunteer Erwin was especially sweet and kept checking in to see if anyone needed anything. He really made the experience feel a lot less stressful. Thank you Huntington Health hospital!

the fact that the staff is on their phones, cracking jokes and giving each other high fives was crazy to me. I had a family member with an very deep open wound waiting for 8hrs plus to be seen to get some medicine was crazy to me. I'm guessing they bill you by the amount of time you spend here or I'm not sure what's really going on but this is outrageous. not to mention how poorly they were handling the elderly people. very unprofessional.

This ER runs so smoothly you sometimes forget you are indeed in the ER. Everything is done pretty much before you even get to a room. The longest part is waiting on results which is to be expected. The doctors and nurses are great, all of them are very kind and knowledgeable.

Sitting here since 12:00PM, and it’s now 4:18 PM. After requesting an update I was informed that the lab orders were incorrectly placed, and they will need to resubmit them it will take another 2 hours to see a medical provider. The entire process has been incredibly inefficient and frustrating, which has severely impacted my schedule. Based on this experience, I would not recommend this facility to anyone.

I would like to share my experience of having to be admitted at Huntington Emergency twice. It's caused anxiety for me because I'm not one that wants to spend time in a hospital bed. However, I was blessed twice to have the assistance of a nurse by the name of Karoly. I've been assisted by some very thoughtful nurses in my life, but Karoly is so considerate, nurturing and genuine. She follows through on everything and then some. She is what made my emergency visit a more relaxing and less stressful time for me and it all comes from her heart. Thank you Karoly and Huntington Hospital!!!

I am compelled to give an honest review. Recently had a visit at 4:30am for my 5 year old son who had severe stomach pain, was seen by Dr Libby, who showed no compassion or care, I know it’s an emergency room and there was no knife stcking out of my son’s head but please show some compassion. It doesn’t cost anything to say something simple as “hope you feel better” before leaving the room. I am giving two stars instead of one out of respect for the people who work overnight to provide service. But please, reflect on why you are in healthcare. Never going back to Huntington Hospital.
