Staff polite & friendly.|The food was absolutely amazing and well priced, came to the table fresh, hot and big portions. Would highly recommend this place to anyone interested in visiting the Harry Potter studios as only a 5-10 minute drive away.

What an amazing hidden gem. I booked this lodge for me & my daughter & her son. We travelled to visit the Warner Bros, Harry Potter experience. The room we were allocated was quaint, in keeping with the age of the building (1642) it was en-suite and I was told all their rooms have a single bed. There is a beer garden, which we were able to make use of, due to some lovely weather. The food we ordered was good value for money and tasty. The first night we ordered the sharing platter and there was plenty for 2 adults and a child to share, even though we'd ordered a separate meal for my grandson. The second night we ordered the rack of ribs for my daughter and her son to share, I went for the minted lamb shank. We both agreed that we'd made the right choices. The staff were friendly and helpful. All in all a really nice break away. A real gem. Thank you Penny.

A short walk from where we had moored our boat on the canal. Excellent service. Good menu. Very, very good pub grub which we did not have to wait long for. Definitely recommend it.

I have been eating here few times and the food is amazing and delicious. It’s hard to find place with that delicious and tasty food. The plate was with amazing decoration and very clean. Personally I would love to say to the head chef well done 👏 he is running this place with professional outstanding if I could I would take him to work for me in my restaurant. He should be appreciated by the company. 🙏 Once again I’m highly recommended this place to have a food with family. Keep it up !

Great location for going to the Warner Bros Studio Tour. Staff warm and welcoming throughout the day, especially the waitress Sue, and always on hand to help. Rooms were cosy and had a great cottage vibe to them. No issues with beds or any other apparatus. Electricity working all fine. Food was particularly good at reasonable prices for the area. Breakfast at £10 was a steal. And evening food had some great selections, especially the pies. 🥧 Couldn't ask for better in terms of service. Bathroom could have been slightly cleaner but for a nights stay, it was absolutely manageable. Definitely would stay again.

This hotel has great potential, if proper investment into modernisation is prioritised. We had two rooms for our family for two nights. The hotel is very tired unfortunately and all carpets need a thorough deep clean (we kept shoes on as felt they were too dirty) and didn’t risk using the kettle. |We arrived on a very busy Friday night (a good sign as it’s clearly popular in the bar and restaurant) but felt in the way|upon arrival although not for long. |We were taken to our rooms by a friendly member of staff. The bedding was clean and fresh but the carpet wasn’t great and everything was old fashioned. Towels were clean but old and too small and the bathroom was really tired with damaged tiles, a rusty towel rail and I’m not convinced the floor had been washed. |Sadly we had a bad first night due to pillows which were so firm, it was like sleeping on a large brick. We all commented on this and felt tired the next day.|The second night wasn’t as bad - maybe we were used to hard pillows by that point.|On the plus side, breakfast was great (which you pay for separately. Disappointed we couldn’t swap baked beans for mushrooms which seemed petty when you consider what we were spending).|On the second morning we had an unfriendly waitress who literally plonked the menus down and walked off! |So…we wouldn’t stay there again but it is a great location for the Harry Potter studios/nearby wedding venue. But if there was a next time, we’d do more research.

Tbh we didn't stay in the hotel however this review is about the restaurant .. So OMG this was amazing .Came here as recommended and certainly lived up to it. Lovely friendly welcome and the food portions more than adequate and very hot....not luke warm as some places.... Great atmosphere and food was excellent , Not over priced either . So that was a bonus... Staff were attentive and helpful . Definitely worth a visit and the journey .. The restaurant nothing to fault . So thankyou for such a lovely evening .
