A two - two and a half hour guided tour from the owner. A super fellow (and witty) who takes great pride in the 52 room mansion he and his wife lovingly restored and furnished lavishly. We went at Xmas and every room was decorated with it's own tree and theme. Well worth a visit. Just one thing, no shoes allowed so think about bringing some slippers.

A stunning eclectic mix of interior design and nostalgia all rolled into to a fully functional family home. Paul and Val guide you on a wonderful and insightful tour of the entire house. No corner left undiscovered. With every room decorated for Christmas too is real festive treat. Sadly the rain held us back from the Garden. We will return

I visited the house when the Christmas decorations were up in all 52 rooms. It was a 2 hour tour with option to explore the gardens. Upon arrival, one is welcomed to have tea/coffee and mince pies. The tour is good and gardens which will.probably be more appreciated in summer.

It's difficult to articulate quite where the appeal of The Hall at Abbey-Cwm-Hir lies. No one is making the claim that the contents are original or "period" - many of them are the odd bits collected by the owners. Somehow, despite the eclectic nature of the items, it all seems to come together in quite a delightful way. Touring the house is like the antithesis of visiting a National Trust property - touching is permitted, the background stories are surprising, and the contents of each room unpredictable. Paul and Victoria - the owners - are clearly bonkers in the most lovely, obliging, and endearingly British way. A lot of hard work has gone into this enterprise and the result is well worth a visit.
