Excellent service. Superbly appointed family run hotel. Rooms comfortable - finished to a high standard. Proper breakfast with decent sausages and bacon! Had the best steak this year in the restaurant. Only minor negative is no carpark BUT plenty of spaces outside and if they’re full the sister hotel directly opposite has a large rear carpark. Book it - you won’t be disappointed Will definitely be back.

All the staff were friendly and welcoming, giving this small hotel a wonderful atmosphere. We booked superior rooms which were huge, well appointed and clean. The zip-n-link bed was perfect for a great night’s sleep. There was a fan in the cupboard if needed. The Scottish breakfast was included and excellent. The location on the lovely market square was ideal for walking out to Melrose Abbey and a great choice of restaurants, pubs, shops and a fine wine bar. We were able to park directly in front of the hotel.

Amazing staff and you shown us kindness and great hospitality. Wondered off the street and asked if they had a quiet spot in the corner out of the way of other diners so we could bring our nervous rescue dog with us. The staff were very friendly and accommodating on a Friday night. For us it was a great experience as we got to have a romantic meal and the food was delicious and also being able to bring our rescue to get him socialised with being out in public. See you again when we come back up north. A very memorable dining experience.

We had an enjoyable stay at the Townhouse. It’s in a good location in the centre of Melrose, close to the abbey, shops, pubs and restaurants. Melrose is a lovely little town to walk around. We were able to park in the sister hotel’s car park across the road which was helpful.||Only standard rooms were available when we booked, which was a shame as it was a little cramped and the bathroom dated.||We ate in the brasserie which had some tasty food at a reasonable price. The wine list seemed very expensive by comparison with standard wines starting at £30 and decent wines mid £40s.||Staff were all very friendly and breakfast was tasty.||A good choice to stop off at or to stay for a few nights if visiting the area.

We returned to The Townhouse after a break of twelve years and found everything to our liking. It's a great base to tour the surrounding area and we were lucky to have arrived on Melrose Festival week. The room was comfy and clean. The food was great and the staff were exceptional. In all, a great 3-night stay and we would love to return. We also ate at Burt's Hotel on one night and found the food equally as good.

These guys could not have looked after us better. Very good breakfast and dinner, don't miss out on puddings (or starters); lovely beer on tap, good whisky, a terrace and a golden location. At the end of the night we tucked up as a large group in the Bothy for a nightcap. We were very happy here and would recommend.

Stayed 4 nights for a tweed river fishing trip. I would highly recommend this family ran hotel in the heart of Melrose. Room was large, clean and comfy. The breakfast and dinners were excellent and the staff where friendly and attentive.

Amazing customer service and a warm welcome for non guests as we wanted a lovely cooked meal with our well behaved Dog.||Seated promptly and greeted with a warm smile from all staff. ||The food was amazing.||Soup of the day was delicious (pea and ham).||The Risotto was amazing always my favourite dish when away.||Beef spring rolls and sweet sauce was lovely.
