The chicken salad sandwich is my favorite thing to get here. The atmosphere here is calm and pleasant. We got their peppermint chocolate cake for Christmas and it was delicious. They also make really good white cakes (light, but super sweet).

Stopped by for lunch. We had the Reubin, Cup and Broccolli cheddar cheese with half sandwich and Broccoli and cheese with wild rice quiche. . The food was excellent. Prices were reasonable and the folks who work there are very polite and friendly. When we got done eating, went to the bakery and goodies. Oh my, so many delicious looking baked good, pies, cakes etc... as you we couldn't decide on one or two things we got a sampler box and a couple of cookies. Absolutely loved this place.

Absolutely a must-visit bakery in GVL. Do not be intimidated by the selection. The staff will help guide you so that you can select the right items and answer any questions. Also, do not be intimidated by the line, if there is one. The way they wait on their customers is to call them up to the display case area as a staff member becomes available. They let them ask questions and make their selections. It tells you they care that you are getting exactly what you want. You do not have to rush. It may make the wait appear to be long, but it really won't be. They are well staffed, efficient, and good at what they do. In a truly awesome side note - Some members of my family and I have enjoyed a hilarious, more than three decades-long inside joke that revolves around Strossner's, my mother, her cheapness, stubborness, and a June day in 1994 that Strossner's was (not) "out of cakes". 😂🚫🎂

This place is “Heaven On Earth!” From the moment I walked inside I was overwhelmed by all the goodies that I could imagine. I was greeted by “Jack” who calmed me down lol, asked what I was looking for and walked me through all the treats. I got just about one of everything. And from the first bite of my Pecan Diamond it was pure joy. The richness of it was amazing along with the taste of fresh pecans. I can’t wait to taste my Maple Pecan Muffin, Chocolate Cake Slice, Chocolate Cookies, and etc. Strossner’s has a “New Loyal” customer now.

I love the atmosphere, the vanilla cupcakes, the cookies are to die for! The whole waiting in line and then having someone help you behind the counter, I do not like. I like to see what the bakery has, especially because it was my first time there. I was ordering for a group so I had to ask them what they wanted after telling them what was available. I noticed another group was confused by that too and said “ I want to see what they have” but then have to get back in line. I didn’t like that process. But everything else is great

I had my mom go into the bakery 10 days in advance to place a custom order for my birthday cake. She spoke directly with someone behind the counter and clearly explained exactly what I wanted — a light, airy, fluffy strawberries and cream layered cake, similar to an angel food or strawberry shortcake-style cake. Everything was discussed in detail to make sure it was right. When my mom went to pick it up, the bakery had no record of the order at all. They threw something together last-minute, and it was obvious. The cake we got was dense, dry, and bland, and tasted like a cheap box mix — completely the opposite of what we asked for. This was supposed to be a special cake for my birthday, and it was honestly embarrassing. Totally unprofessional and disappointing. I won’t be coming back.
