Food is delicious and service was really quick. But a single sharebox is more than enough for 2 people! 3 of us shared 2 boxes as we were recommended to by the staff but it was far too much. It's also freezing, so any sides you get quickly become very very cold. Bring your warmest coat!

Saturday lunch… great brisket burger, rustic chips the condiments were all delicious. Shame it’s not the full menu on a Saturday lunch but I wasn’t disappointed with the burger and chips! I’m looking forward to revisiting in the evening or a Sunday lunch when the full menu is available. Four men dined… four really happy full fellas. Utopian ales Great service 10/10 from the staff.

Very good, properly slow smoked BBQ joint, and it's in North Devon! Get outta here! ? No really... No bookings needed, just turn up. Open Friday eve, and sat lunch and eve. In a purpose built building like a barn that's really neat inside (and not heated so take a jacket if it's cold) . Proper BBQ restaurant feel and smells amazing. The owners have taken their knowledge of proper US BBQ and brought it here. Had the lunch menu and pictured are the Brisket loaded fries, which were very good and with a very long slow hickory smoke. The piggy Mac and cheese was great and even the cheese was lightly smoked, nicely done. As someone who's smoked most foods myself as a hobby for many years, this is really good. And will be back to try some things off the full evening menu for sure. Recommended

My partner and I came here as a suggestion from a friend and it was actually amazing. Delicious food and great service- the food practically followed us to our seats. We also sat outside as the weather was nice, it was so quiet and a very relaxed atmosphere.

Lovely place & food was great but it was freezing cold. It’s a tin metal barn with no heating whatsoever so everyone is sat with winter coats and woolly hats on shivering cold. We ordered the sharing box for 2 and the meat is cold within 2 minutes of opening the box as it’s so cold in there. We left the second we finished the food so we could go back to the car & put the heating on. I don’t understand why they don’t have a space heater or patio heaters or a wood burner. We definitely won’t be returning again until the summer! (We went in November). Was just unenjoyable due to how cold it was in there!

Amazing barbecue place. Food is good. Service is fast. The price is correct. Only minus is the fact that as we eat in a grange so it feels cold, be prepared.

This hidden gem, tucked away off the beaten track, is undoubtedly one of the best BBQ joints i have visited, offering food that's simply incredible. Smoke on the Waters serves up remarkable flavors across the menu, with the brisket being an absolute must-try. The setting is ideal for a sunny evening, perfect for enjoying great food and drinks both indoors and outdoors. Despite being busy, the service was both friendly and quick. The staff are super welcoming, adding to the already fantastic atmosphere. I've visited several times and have always left impressed. The value is excellent, with smoked BBQ meats priced reasonably despite their high quality and generous portions. One thing to keep in mind is the sliced brisket's popularity—it sells out within about 20 minutes of opening, so make sure you're first in the queue! And the ribs are to die for; they’re the best I've ever eaten. Overall, the experience is top-notch, and I couldn't recommend this place any higher. Whether you're a BBQ aficionado or just looking for a great meal, Smoke on the Waters is well worth hunting down. You'll love the flavors, atmosphere, and the friendly vibe that makes each visit special.

Unreal food! Got here for 6pm before it got busy. Greet value for money and flavoured meats. It’s not dog friendly and would recommend to them to have some benches outside for people with dogs. I understand you wouldn’t want them in the main barn as not all dogs are well trained. Worth the visit and will be back!
