Joan is one of the best staff I’ve met! I lost my wallet while dropping some stuff off at the location. After I left, I realized I didn't have my wallet on me. When I returned to the location, I saw Joan returning my wallet to the main gate!! Joan, thank you, brother. Your actions did a lot. Your integrity and honesty are inspiring! God bless you.

My first time coming to the Prince William County Landfill and I didn’t know what to expect. As far as landfills go, this place is pretty nice! 😀 It was clean and well organized. The one staff member I spoke to was friendly and professional. I told her I had a truck bed full of yard waste and she told me where to go. She inquired about my military ID and said there was no charge! That was unexpected but really appreciated! So 200 lbs of yard waste dropped off free of charge!? How could I not give them 5 ⭐️! Great experience!

Don’t waste your time contractors going to this place! They charge to much for little bit of trash And all the time give you a hard time to let you dump They don’t accept trash from the same area. They make money from you and from the trash. Things has to change because it’s a facility of the community because everything that is Gov. belongs to the people, all of us fund the government.

The hours are dumb in my opinion. Open until 6 during the weekday but only until 5 on Saturday. If ever go on a Saturday vs a weekday, Saturday has far more traffic than weekdays put together. Most people work Monday-Friday 8-5 so the only day they have is Saturday. At least extend the hours on Saturday.

Apparently providing three documents demonstrating I live in the county and pay taxes isn’t good enough to get access. Why should I even bother to recycle then?

I have been coming to this facility for as long as I can remember and have never had an experience as upsetting as I did on July 5th at 10:00 AM. I was denied entry and told I had “too much trash,” even though there were multiple U-Haul trucks and other vehicles ahead of me clearly carrying significantly more than I had—yet they were all allowed in without question. When I politely asked for clarification about the rules and why I was being singled out, the staff member at the entrance became immediately defensive, dismissive, and hostile. Instead of providing an explanation, she threatened to call the police on me—simply because I was trying to understand the inconsistency. That level of aggression and lack of professionalism is completely unacceptable. I’m a long-time supporter of this site, but this experience has shaken my trust and respect for the way it’s being managed. No one deserves to be intimidated or treated with disrespect for asking fair questions. I will be filing a formal claim, and I truly hope management takes this seriously and reevaluates how some of their employees interact with the public. Unless this is addressed appropriately, I will not be returning—and I will be advising others in the community to do the same.

Prince William County recently changed their recycling rules, which meant that I had to take the glass to this landfill instead of putting it out on the curb. It is a slight inconvenience, but it makes a huge difference in the amount of usable recycling the county receives. I’m proud to say that so many people are taking advantage of this opportunity that the glass been was filled to the brim today.

This is definitely one of the worst locations to throw landfill at. The staff here doesn’t try to assist at all or leave instructions clear and for some reason take pleasure in charging prince william county residents? They were extremely rude to my brother and I even though we were asking genuine questions. I definitely don’t recommend this place and if I could leave a rating lower than one star I would.
